O God, we still live in a broken world desperate for the grace of new beginnings. Help us trust the rainbow sign, and share the covenant of caring with all creation, in Jesus the Christ. Amen.
Along with “Hail Mary” this is an expression of faith that has found its way into common language to refer to other things. A desperate team makes a “hail Mary” pass, and when real events aren’t cooperating with the plan it’s time for a “come to Jesus” meeting. Lent is the genuine article. A time to get real again about faith, plans, relationships and commitments. And it’s time for the Reedville Church to begin a Season of Discernment.
